Looking to grow your photography Business? Here are 3 very handy tips on how to do it!
I’ve recently been reading the book Mastering the Rockerfeller Habits by Verne Harnish. It’s a really great book and I highly recommend you read it if you haven’t already.
For those of you who don’t know who Rockerfeller is, he was America’s first billionaire and he has 3 business habits that were the key to his success. The great thing about these habits is that are applicable to just about any organisation, including photography!
Are you clear on your top 5 priorities for the year, for the quarter and for the month? What about your top 1 of those 5? If you don’t have these written down and up somewhere you and your team can see, it’s time to make that happen. It can also be really handy to colour code your priorities.
Do you have sufficient data and numbers that you check on a daily or weekly basis? Knowing your numbers is important. Do you know how many enquiries you need to get to make a sale? Do you know how many visits you need to get to your website to get an enquiry? Do you know which keywords people type in to find your services and which keywords people are using at the moment to find your site? Do you know how many emails you need to push out to generate 1 sale? These are all important numbers to know. If you decide to undertake monthly coaching with me, we will set up your numbers and review them each week. You also have access to templates and training so you understand how to find your numbers and what you are looking at.
There are some great tools out there that can really help you to know your marketing numbers… Here are some I recommend:
1. Google Analytics – yes you should be checking analytics on a regular basis. If you aren’t sure about how to use it, Google have recently released a great new training module that you can use to learn how to use it.
2. Moz – social media analytics, website errors and how to fix them and SEO opportunities, this is a very powerful all in one SEO tool, but it comes at a price.
Does your business have an effective rhythm of meetings and regular tasks that get completed each week? Whether you are working with staff or not, it’s important to have a regular flow or rhythm to things. If it’s just you, you still need to have a meeting with yourself each week or schedule some time each week to set your goals, go over your achievements and work out your roadblocks and what’s preventing you from achieving your goals.
